Privacy and usage
MCR measures how its pages and satellite views are used to help improve the service. You can turn this optional measurement off for this browser.

MCR also honors Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. Sign-in and security checks continue to work when optional measurement is off.
What MCR measures
- Page loads, regions explored, satellite views and storms displayed, and imagery products selected.
- Approximate active time while the page is visible, with a limit when there is no interaction.
- Recording actions, clip playback, package and app downloads, shared-clip activity, successful sign-ins and contact submissions.
- Broad device and browser categories, the browser’s timezone, and the referring website’s domain when supplied.
A random first-party identifier helps estimate returning browsers. It expires after 90 days. It does not reveal an anonymous visitor’s name, and different browsers or cleared cookies can count separately.
When you sign in, measured activity can be associated with your MCR account. Only administrators can access the usage dashboard. A browser timezone is a preference, not a verified location.
Data and retention
The usage dataset excludes raw IP addresses, complete user-agent strings, URL query strings, share tokens, passwords, contact-message text and other form contents. Referrers are reduced to their domain.
Usage records are retained for 90 days. MCR stores this information on its own hosting account and does not send it to an advertising or external analytics service. Hosting and security logs are separate from this optional usage dataset.
Turning measurement off stops future collection for this browser and clears its optional identifier. The preference is saved in this browser; clearing browser storage can reset it.
